Strategic Planning That Transforms Vision into Actionable, Measurable Results

Strategic Planning

What We Do

Our strategic plan development advisory services uses a standardized, three-phase model—Approach, Design, and Execution—for client engagement.

How We Do It

The goal is the development of a comprehensive, actionable Strategy Plan document that includes S.M.A.R.T. goals and recommendations for future progress monitoring, including phase-gate check-ins that keep the plan dynamic by ensuring the team meets at key points to monitor progress, preventing the strategy from becoming a static, outdated document. A visual representation of the strategic plan includes a work plan journey map, making the plan easier to understand, communicate, and follow over time.

Cases and Client Experiences

Digital Ecosystem Strategy

S.A.I.D. Strategy guided a comprehensive digital transformation for the client, modernizing its intranet platform, and integrating tools such as Slack, Jane A.I., and OKTA for improved communication, search, and secure access. The initiative expanded the digital ecosystem from a basic two-part system to a connected, user-friendly environment featuring advanced communication, collaboration, and project management capabilities, resulting in streamlined workflows and improved organizational efficiency. This change led to a more efficient, user-friendly, and collaborative workplace for the client’s staff.

5-Year Strategy Plan Guide

S.A.I.D. Strategy collaborated with a client to develop a comprehensive five-year strategy implementation guide directing its future work to advance goals for children, families, and communities. This involved extensive stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and environment scans. The process featured robust project management, integration of programming and operations staff, and development of cross-functional strategy recommendations that align organizational outcomes with an operational plan for execution. The project governance model was designed to include executive sponsors and distributed decision-making responsibilities, ensuring the strategy embodied the organization’s values and practices in all interactions with staff, grantees, and community partners.

Strategic Planning Workshop

The Mississippi Children’s Museum engaged S.A.I.D. Strategy Group to facilitate a strategic planning workshop for launching the L.I.F.T. initiative, a program supported by a computer science grant aimed at developing a new facility on the museum campus. The project was comprised of three phases: Workshop Approach, Design, and Execution, resulting in a comprehensive Strategy Plan. This plan included a three-year work plan segmented into 0-6, 7-18, and 18-36-month implementation periods. The plan was structured to incorporate goals around resource identification, educator engagement, sustainability, communication, and capital campaign planning. A Strategic Plan Milestone Journey Map was also developed to visually share progress and engage stakeholders.

Early Childhood Development Program Enhancement Strategy

S.A.I.D. Strategy led a strategic planning workshop for the Mississippi Early Childhood Development Coalition which underwent a strategic planning initiative to enhance collaboration and operational effectiveness among Mississippi’s early childhood development stakeholders. A key retreat was held bringing together diverse partners to reflect on achievements—such as raising child developmental screening rates and building statewide networks—and to develop a new, integrated organizational approach. The coalition’s focus is now on strengthening its role as an information hub, amplifying stakeholder engagement, and supporting advocacy and resource coordination across the state, while restructuring its operations for greater impact.
